Fire
safety tip:
√
If there is a kitchen fire, be sure everyone gets out of the
house.
√
Report the fire by calling 911.
√
Never ever use water to put out a grease fire.
√
For grease fires: If the fire is very very small you can use
a fire extinguisher. It is a good idea to have a fire extinguisher
within easy reach of the stove/oven. If the fire is inside
of the pan/pot, the easiest way to stop the fire is to place
the lid on the pan. this will suffocate the fire. a large
amount of baking soda can also be used to extinguish a fire.
Because of the possibilty of fires when cooking it is best
to always have a grown up with you.
√
It is best to leave the use of a fire extinguisher to an adult
but anyone who uses a stove or oven should learn how to use
a fire extinguisher just in case.
